In another great article for the Anchorage Press, Dr. Fermento writes about the importance of drinking local beer whenever possible. Here’s a snippet:
Finally, almost without saying, you should be resolved, easily enough, to expose your out-of-state visitors to the most local beer they can tolerate during their stay. Just in Anchorage, with awesome local venues like Glacier Brewhouse, The Snow Goose Restaurant and Sleeping Lady Brewing Company, Midnight Sun Brewing Company’s Loft and the world famous Moose’s Tooth Pub and Pizzeria within easy distance. Watering and dining your visitors and plying them with everything local is a breeze. Run them out to experience Eagle River Alehouse or Pizza Man nearby, or if they have aspirations to experience Talkeetna, Denali Brewing Company and the attached Twister Creek Restaurant, with all of Denali’s fine beers on tap, is easy pickings. Further north, there’s the great pub at Silver Gulch Brewing Company in Fox, and by mid-2012, drag them through what’s perhaps Alaska’s upcoming newest brewing company, HooDoo in Fairbanks.
