Three year’s ago on Halloween, we opened our doors to a great, enthusiastic crowd who waited patiently for fresh, local beer. It’s been an incredible ride so far, thanks to all of you!
This Saturday, October 31st, is our three-year Anniversary, which will no doubt be all-day fun since it is on Halloween – and it’s family friendly.
At 12pm, we’ll tap our highly-anticipated, fruity local favorite, the Pumpkin Ale, which is brewed with over 200-pounds of locally-sourced gourds from Rosie Creek and Perfect Perch Farms.
We will also have this delicious treat available on CASK aged on AK Cranberries – yum! – until it runs out.
We’ll have spiced cupcakes by local confectioner A&K Cupcakes for all, Cold Stone Creamery root beer floats for the kids and Stout or Pumpkin Ale floats for the kids at heart from 12-5pm, and of course loads of candy up for grabs with suggested beer pairings. Our annual Anniversary Limerick Contest will be at 7pm, where finalists from a contest on our Facebook page will read their limericks aloud to the crowd at 7pm. Grand champ will win two tickets to the UA Museum’s “Chefs’ Challenge at the Museum” event on November 13. Additionally, we’re giving away great prizes for costumes all day! Frostbite Farms will be set up in their Biergarten with food options all day from 11am-8pm.

Full-bodied, Complex, Spiced. “Pumpkin pie in a glass,” said a few people last year.
As the days get shorter, the temperature drops, and the snow begins to accumulate (maybe?), nothing warms the Fairbanks soul better than a slice of creamy pumpkin pie, topped with a dollop of whip cream.
Especially if this delicious treat comes in beer form. Our Pumpkin Ale is an old Ale brewed with cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, cloves and allspice and 100% real, locally sourced, hand roasted and processed pumpkins and gourds.
The rich aromas from the pumpkin and light spice additions complement the rich malty base of this deep orange colored beer. Upon first sip, an up-front spice is immediately supported by a creamy, complex sweetness. The spices give way to rich maltiness before the beer finishes cleanly, but full-bodied.
It’s a perfect beer for Fall, and a great celebration ale as we ease into the holidays.
